Reporting on his success in the United States, expressing great admiration for the country and its people but also his longing to return to England, mentioning French's "beautiful autograp[h]s; of course I need not tell you I am collecting here," etc.; the letter is written on the blank pages of a proof copy of the program of his concert in Philadelphia on 17 October 1844.
